Hey. It’s been a while. I didn’t mean to wait this long after my first blog post. But school keeps me very busy lately. I have finals coming up (exams, not football), I’ve participated in a few quizzes (and I also won one. Yay! :D) and I also have been spending a lot of time lately thinking about physics. I’ve been re-reading The Theory Of Everything and A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking. They’re great books and you should really read them if you’re interested in physics but don’t have a PhD (The books explain concepts assuming you have no background in physics)
Anyways, so today’s a special day since
- I didn’t have school today. (Don’t get me wrong; I don’t hate school, but I don’t hate holidays either)
- it’s a day that comes once every 4 years. It’s a Leap Day! Happy Birthday all you leaplings!
- Minecraft 1.9 came out today. Yeah, I play Minecraft and I just love it.
I don’t really play video games anymore but Minecraft is so cool. At least, if you like what it has to offer. You can check it out here. It costs $27 dollars but it’s totally worth more (actually, I have no right to say that since it was gifted to me).
The reason I don’t play many video games lately is because there’s so many more amazing things to do like learn calculus or ponder over the answer of life which, by the way, isn’t 42. Shocker! But Minecraft acts as a place where I can get those creative juices flowing again whenever my brain decides to just dam them up. Minecraft is a place to learn and put those concepts to practice. Need to build logic gates? Try Minecraft’s redstone! Need to build working models of KFC? Build a complex chicken dispensing system in Minecraft! Don’t let the 8 bit graphics influence your opinion about the game- Minecraft lets you do anything you can imagine.
There are other incredible games too which teach important skills like coding, new languages and appreciation for the laws of physics
(read Angry Birds). I think people should really look for games that go beyond entertainment.
Other news – my favorite animated TV series, Gravity Falls, has ended (to be more precise, it was concluded). It was a great show and I’ll write more about it in future posts. I think Bill Cipher is the coolest character in the show.
February was a great month for me – this blog was born, I studied a lot (studying always makes me feel great :P), I watched a lot of movies and TV, the detection of gravitational waves was announced, Gravity Falls was concluded, Inside Out won an Oscar and other stuff I’m too lazy to recall.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be exploring the Combat Update on Minecraft. May the ores be with me.You know, because you can mine ores on Minecraft.
